Seasonal Retail and Stocking Clerk

We are looking for enthusiastic Seasonal Sales Associates to join the New York Puzzle

Company team at our holiday pop-up markets across the city and beyond. This is a hands-on

role that goes beyond standing at a register — you'll be an active part of keeping the booth

running, which includes contributing to physical tasks like restocking, receiving inventory, and booth setup and breakdown.

If you enjoy talking to people, love puzzles, and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Experience

  • Engage with customers, share product knowledge, and drive sales
  • Create a welcoming and energetic booth environment
  • Handle card transactions accurately
  • Support the site lead in meeting daily and seasonal sales targets

Setup & Breakdown

All team members are expected to contribute to the physical setup and breakdown of the booth at the start and end of the season. This includes:

  • Helping transport merchandise, furniture, and fixtures to and from market locations
  • Assembling and disassembling furniture and display fixtures
  • Installing rugs, flooring, or other booth elements as directed
  • Packing down and clearing the full booth at close of season

Receiving & Restocking

  • Receiving product deliveries — unboxing, sorting, and organizing inventory on-site
  • Carrying and moving boxes and inventory (ability to lift up to 50 lbs required)
  • Assisting with restock runs to warehouses or other locations — a driver's license is a plus but not required; the site lead will coordinate driving
  • Keeping the booth well-stocked and organized throughout the day

General

  • Follow market rules and regulations at all times
  • Communicate any stock, scheduling, or operational issues to the site lead promptly
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude with customers and teammates

Requirements

  • Comfortable with physical work — lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and hands-on booth tasks
  • Friendly, outgoing, and confident talking to customers
  • Reliable and punctual — holiday markets run on tight schedules
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Driver's license a plus (not required)
  • Prior retail or customer-facing experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

  • Locations: Christkindlmarket Chicago and Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville
  • Hours available up to 40 hours per week
  • W-2 seasonal job
  • Discount of 40% up to $200 for the season

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
