Shift Pattern: Bank – flexible shifts
Working Hours: Day, evening, waking night and sleep-in shifts
Pay: £14.50 per hour

About Kelwel Care

At Kelwel Care, we support young people aged 16+ as they take steps towards greater independence. We provide safe, supportive accommodation where young people can develop essential life skills, confidence and resilience.

We are looking for caring, reliable and proactive Bank Support Workers to join our team across Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.

The Role

As a Bank Support Worker, you’ll support young people aged 16–18 with their day-to-day lives, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to live independently.

This is a flexible bank role, ideal for someone looking to work additional shifts around other commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people with everyday tasks such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning and appointments.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive decision-making.
  • Provide emotional support and appropriate guidance.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with young people.
  • Support education, training and employment opportunities.
  • Complete key-working sessions, records and relevant documentation.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and supportive environment.
  • Work flexibly across days, evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep-ins where required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with young people, care leavers or within a care/support setting is desirable.
  • A genuine interest in helping young people develop independence and life skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, reliable and positive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence is required.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete one.
