Responsibilities Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash
Perform bank, supplier, and sales/merchant reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Manage purchase ledger activities, including invoice processing, supplier statements, and payment runs
Reconcile retail sales, POS systems, and merchant settlements with accurate posting of daily takings
Support stock accounting, adjustments, and stocktake processes
Assist with VAT reporting, compliance, and audit trail preparation
Support year-end processes and external reporting as required
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and reporting
Requirements Proven experience working as an accountant in a high-volume or retail environment
Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and VAT fundamentals
Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
Close attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Relevant academic qualification in accounting or finance preferred
