<p>Senior Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric <br>£70,000-£80,000 Lancashire One day per week in the office <br> <br>You've built with Microsoft Fabric. Now you want the room to make decisions, solve problems and take ownership of how a platform develops. <br> <br>This role gives you that scope. Fabric is already in place, with foundations to build on and plenty to improve. You'll help move the business towards a more consistent, scalable approach to data engineering, creating pipelines and models that support reporting, analytics and day-to-day operations. <br> <br>Working alongside BI, analytics and software development colleagues, you'll combine hands-on engineering with helping others get more from the platform. <br> <br>What you'll get stuck into <br> <br>Building and improving Fabric pipelines and notebooks. <br> <br>Creating reusable data models and reliable ingestion processes across APIs and databases. <br> <br>Using SQL and Python to automate processing and reduce manual work. <br> <br>Structuring and optimising data for Power BI. <br> <br>Improving data quality and establishing engineering practices colleagues can build on. <br> <br>You'll have a say in how things are designed and the responsibility to see them through. It's a good fit if you enjoy understanding the business problem as much as building the technical solution. <br> <br>What you'll need <br> <br>Practical Microsoft Fabric experience is essential, including building pipelines and working with data storage and transformation. <br> <br>You'll also bring strong SQL, Python and data modelling skills, an understanding of lakehouse and warehouse approaches, and experience preparing data for Power BI. <br> <br>You should be comfortable taking ownership, explaining your decisions and sharing your knowledge with colleagues. Previous sector experience isn't essential. <br> <br>The practical details <br> <br>£70,000-£80,000, one office day per week in Lancashire, flexible working hours and a 36.25-hour working week, alongside healthcare benefits.</p><p></p>
