Contract: Permanent, Part Time (28 hours per week)

Salary/Benefits: £44,000 – £46,000 pro rata, per annum (dependent on experience), plus a comprehensive employee benefits package

This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now in its 70th anniversary year, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include some veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Daina Pusic, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F**king World, Jonathan Entwistle. 

LFS is one of only two film schools in the UK to have received ‘world leading’ institution status and funding from the Office for Students. 

Job Summary

London Film School is seeking an experienced Senior Lecturer in Production Design to inspire and develop the next generation of filmmakers. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled industry professional to combine their creative expertise with teaching, supporting students as they build the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed for successful careers in film.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging teaching and learning support in Production Design.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum.
  • Act as a Personal Tutor, supporting students throughout their studies.
  • Participate in student recruitment and admissions activities.
  • Maintain and develop industry knowledge and professional networks.
  • Undertake academic administration and departmental responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the School to enhance the student experience.
  • Foster a creative, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

If you have extensive professional experience as a Production Designer, Art Director, or Set Decorator, alongside teaching experience in higher education or a similar learning environment, we would love to hear from you. You will bring strong industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting aspiring filmmakers to realise their creative potential.
