About the role:

As a Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer, you will join our Infrastructure Operations team, supporting and evolving enterprise Windows platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of business-critical infrastructure while driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with engineers, developers, and customers, you will help design, implement, and support resilient infrastructure solutions across both on-premise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP, IIS, RDS, Certificate Services, and Windows Failover Clustering.

  • Support and manage enterprise virtualisation platforms, including VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM, alongside Azure infrastructure services.

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, contributing to infrastructure standardisation and operational efficiency.

  • Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, technology refresh programmes, and cloud adoption initiatives.

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support knowledge while contributing to service improvement activities.

Skills we can’t do without:
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, and 2022).

  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP, Windows Failover Clustering, and Microsoft Certificate Services.

  • Strong PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation experience.

  • Experience administering VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM environments.

  • Solid troubleshooting skills with experience supporting business-critical production infrastructure within ITIL-based service management environments.

Skills we'd like:
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft Defender technologies, and security monitoring solutions.

  • Knowledge of Intune, MECM/SCCM, WSUS, Azure DevOps, Git, Ansible, or Microsoft Sentinel.

Additional Requirements:
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.

  • Participation in a 24x7 on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours support for planned maintenance and critical incidents is required.

  • Location: UK-based, with remote work option.
