Victory Services Club is a tri-Service, all ranks, private military members’ Club for currently serving and retired members of the UK Armed Forces and allies. The Club offers a truly unique Club atmosphere, excellent service and value for money, impressive accommodation, and varied dining and events options.

The Club is a registered charity and has two charitable objectives: to provide a place for serving and ex-serving personnel to meet; and to support serving or ex-serving personnel who face hardship or distress, including those wounded as a result of operational service. Respite and Welfare Breaks are provided by the Club, which is just one element of our wider activity in support of the second charitable objective.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and quality-focused Events Sous Chef to join our team. You must have excellent knowledge of the day-to-day running of a busy professional events kitchen with the ability to organise effectively & be able to work quickly with a level head when under pressure.

Role Description:

We are looking for a proactive, forward-thinking, talented chef to head up our events section within a prestigious members' club. You will be able to perform consistently in line with the company’s high standards and have experience producing high-end events for up to 300 individuals and corporate clients.

You will work within the kitchen brigade reporting directly to the Head/Executive Chefs. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the events kitchen, including managing chefs and kitchen porters, placing food orders, and overseeing the production and presentation of a variety of events. On occasion, during quieter periods, you may also be required to work in the restaurant.

Your regular hours of work will be five out of seven, with paid overtime during busier periods. You will be required to cover events at weekends and be flexible to the needs of the business.

Required Experience:

Must have worked in an events kitchen at a supervisory level with excellent communication skills. A good knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene is required. The ability to work alone or as part of a team under pressure is essential.
