As a Staff Enterprise Technology Engineer at BP PLC, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust enterprise-level technology solutions, focusing on enhancing system reliability, efficiency, and security across our global operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex enterprise technology systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements and architectural best practices.
  • Implement and manage configuration management and release processes, including continuous deployment and release pipelines, to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
  • Utilize scripting expertise to automate system administration tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement database solutions, including relational data modelling and database design.
  • Apply information security principles and practices to safeguard enterprise systems and data, ensuring compliance with BP's security policies.
  • Drive the adoption of Agility core practices within engineering teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and rapid delivery.
  • Act as a technical leader and mentor, facilitating knowledge sharing and contributing to creating a high-performing team.
  • Oversee service operations and resilience, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to maintain high system availability and performance.
  • Manage source control and code management strategies, ensuring version control, code quality, and collaborative development practices.
  • Engage in digital project management activities, including planning, execution, and monitoring of technology initiatives.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agility core practices.
  • Proven experience in Configuration management and release processes, including Continuous deployment and release.
  • Strong proficiency in Scripting for automation and system administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Database Design and Relational Data Modelling.
  • Solid understanding and practical application of Information Security principles.
  • Experience with Source control and code management systems.
  • Ability to contribute to and foster Creating a high performing team.
  • Experience with System Design and architecture for enterprise-level solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills in Service operations and resilience.
  • Proficiency in Digital Project Management.
  • Excellent Collaboration and Communication skills.
  • Strong Facilitation abilities for technical discussions and workshops.
