In this role, you’ll help us build the systems and standards that define what “good” looks like across our global codebase, empowering thousands of engineers to ship with velocity and confidence.Get to know our Engineering team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.What You’ll Be DoingYou'll be joining the Code Foundations team, part of the Developer Platform group within the Foundations organisation, and reporting directly to its Director of Engineering. We empower 5,000+ engineers across DoorDash and its subsidiaries to ship faster without sacrificing quality by providing development environments, build pipelines, agentic development tools and SDUI in the mobile space.Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:Leading the AI-Native Transformation: Identifying and implementing areas inside the group that would benefit from leveraging AI, from developer support to testing to prototyping. Working closely with teams across the group and stakeholders across the business at all levels of seniority to land the impact of the changes while ensuring everyone is brought along on the journey.Embedding AI in Developer Workflows: Deliver consistent, trusted, and reproducible AI-assisted ways of working across all 5 teams in the group, in areas ranging from mobile development to developer tooling.Powering AI-Assisted Development: Encode gating rules and quality expectations into agentic development workflows, ensuring AI-generated code meets the same rigorous standards as human-written code.Driving Engineering Excellence: Use metrics to track efficiency improvements through initiatives grounded in data and influencing engineering standards across a distributed, global You’ll Need to ThriveOur ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:Excellent communication: Proven storytelling and narrative skills that will align the group behind a vision and ensure everyone is brought along for the journey.Systems thinking: Demonstrated ability to design, build and operate complex systems or toolchains requiring the coordination of many stakeholders at large scale.Strong business lens: Clear ability to look beyond the technical space and understand its impact on the business, and be able to translate organisational business goals into concrete team experience in Go or similar: Strong software engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of building and operating production systems in Go or similar modern languages.
