About the role

We are looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to support engagement and knowledge exchange activities within the CIRCARB programme in the University of Leicester’s School of Engineering. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, Project Manager and wider project team, you will engage organisations across industry, academia, policy and related sectors, helping to communicate the programme’s activities, findings and opportunities.

You will help develop and maintain external relationships, coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops, consultations and dissemination events, and gather feedback to inform the project team. You will also maintain records of engagement and follow-up actions, contribute to knowledge exchange and impact activity, and undertake relevant professional development. You will join an internationally recognised engineering environment with expertise spanning areas including green energy, transport and digital manufacturing, and with established links to major engineering companies.

About you

You will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience, together with experience in stakeholder engagement, knowledge exchange, communications, business engagement or a related field. You will also have worked successfully with external organisations or stakeholders. Experience gained within research, innovation, sustainability, energy, manufacturing or industrial decarbonisation projects would be advantageous, as would experience of university-industry collaboration.

An excellent written and verbal communicator, you will be able to build effective professional relationships and engage confidently with people from different backgrounds. You will organise and prioritise activities within agreed timescales, work independently and make a positive contribution to a wider project team. A proactive, collaborative and professional approach will be essential to supporting the successful delivery and wider impact of CIRCARB.
