Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Services Manager to deputise for the Support Services Leader who heads the Support Services Department. This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours/week, on a fixed-term basis for one year, with the opportunity to become permanent following the initial term.

Key Requirements

*

Undergraduate degree or vocational qualification in health and social care or a related discipline.

*

At least 5 years’ experience managing support staff, incidents and difficult situations with resilience within a high supported mental health environment.

*

Excellent knowledge of mental health-related illnesses, challenging behaviours, complex needs, substance misuse and trauma-informed practice.

*

Understanding of the role of statutory agencies involved in mental health.

*

Knowledge of equality, diversity, safeguarding, quality assurance and compliance.

*

Excellent knowledge of support planning and risk assessing client needs.

*

At least 5 years’ experience working with individuals experiencing mental ill-health, substance misuse, complex needs or social exclusion.

*

Understanding of housing-related support services and tenancy sustainment.

*

Strong computer skills and digital dexterity.

*

Experience in using Customer Relationship Management systems and databases.

*

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate appropriately with people at all levels and capacities.

*

Self-motivated and able to use own initiative to find solutions.

*

Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

*

Ability to prioritise a varied workload.

*

Warm and friendly demeanour with a positive and open-minded attitude.
