Tableau Developer
We are looking for a Tableau Developer in our Data team.
You will be joining our Analytics Excellence team. In this role, you will hold a range of responsibilities critical to the successful use of Tableau Cloud at Funding Circle. You will be the primary point of contact for complex Tableau issues. You will troubleshoot and help to resolve Tableau Cloud performance, dashboards, data sources and Tableau Bridge connectivity queries and provide solutions for users.

The role

  • Design, develop and maintain performant, scalable and best practice Tableau data sources (e.g. optimised extracts, published data sources), ensuring efficient SQL queries and robust data pipelines feeding into Tableau.
  • Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance in Tableau ensuring security and usability .
  • Manage users access to Tableau dashboards across the business.
  • Document Tableau development standards, report design best practices and data governance processes across Funding Circle.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure and Data Platform teams to monitor Tableau Bridge Server , monitor overall data pipeline efficiency for Tableau Cloud and ensure the Tableau configurations are appropriate
  • Provide training and support to tableau users.
  • Stay up to date with Tableau releases and new features
What we're looking for
As a BI Developer with extensive experience in Tableau you will be expected to develop in depth knowledge of Funding Circle's use of Tableau Cloud. You will be an expert in what is required to maintain and develop Tableau Cloud usage in an organisation. You will optimise data sources that feed Tableau Cloud dashboards in collaboration with Cloud Infrastructure team and data platform teams. You will:
  • Tableau Experience : you will have extensive knowledge of Tableau both server and cloud and will be experienced in troubleshooting issues with how Bridger servers connect with data platforms/warehouses/Cloud infrastructure.
  • Data story telling skills : Strong ability to turn data analysis into insightful story telling using visualisation.
  • Data manipulation : Proficient in data manipulation and analysis using tools like SQL. Ability to work with large-scale datasets and extract meaningful insights. Experience in data processing to enable accurate analytics. Ability to handle data quality issues and outliers effectively.
  • Collaborative team player : Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, both non-technical (domain experts) and highly technical Cloud engineers, analytics engineers, platform engineers and data scientists). Practical mindset with a focus on team outcomes as well as being a self starter able to proactively drive forward initiatives.
