Technical Writer - Remote Documentation Role

Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our dynamic remote team. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that supports our products, services, and internal processes. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers to translate complex technical information into user-friendly manuals, guides, FAQs, and online help content. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, API documentation, and training materials.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, QA) to gather and verify technical information.

  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company style guidelines.

  • Create visuals, diagrams, and flowcharts to enhance documentation and support textual content.

  • Manage document version control and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to stakeholders.

  • Analyze existing documentation for gaps and update materials as products evolve.

  • Assist in the development of FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles to improve customer support.

  • Participate in user feedback sessions and incorporate feedback to improve documentation quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Technical Writer or similar role in a technical environment.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, Confluence, or similar.

  • Familiarity with basic graphic design tools like Adobe Illustrator or Visio is a plus.

  • Experience with markup languages such as HTML, XML, or Markdown is preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.

  • Strong research skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer in software, IT, engineering, or related industries.

  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments is advantageous.

  • Prior remote work experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week).
