Position Summary Why join our team? The European Treasury Centre (RTC) has responsibility for operating and controlling all of the major treasury activities for 35 entities in Europe. The European Treasury team is integral to the global treasury function and is at the forefront of developments within this increasingly strategic area. Role and Responsibilities Your key responsibilities The successful applicant will get the unique opportunity to work in both our back and front office teams and receive training on the many different functions of a multinational treasury department. The role will start in the back-office function where you will learn and assist with our global intercompany netting programme, FX/Money Market settlements and daily cash management data preparation and reporting. When working in our front office team you'll be responsible for assisting the Treasury Managers in managing the FX exposure of the Subsidiaries and optimising the use of the cash pools to maximise the return on surplus cash. In addition, you will be required to analyse data and produce reports which can be used to support strategic decisions. Throughout your time at Samsung, you will have significant exposure to all subsidiaries across the EMEA region and will work closely with them. Cash & FX Management: Daily cash position – collecting cash forecast data from subsidiaries and treasury/ banking systems to enable the accurate calculation of our cash position. Cash Pooling rates – reconciling interest rates applicable to the accounts on the multi-currency cash pools and promptly report any discrepancy. Back Office Support – ensuring settlement of FX and Money Market deals and related payments, within strict deadlines. Follow up any differences to achieve a successful resolution. Front Office Support – Analyzing subsidiaries FX exposures to ensure effective hedging. Monitoring of subsidiaries balances and recommending investments as appropriate. Assist with executing Forward FX hedging deals Assist surplus fund investments in Government Bonds, Bank Deposits and High-Yield accounts, with the aim of maximising gross income Global Netting Management: Assist with the twice monthly Global Netting System – oversee the information collection, calculate the net position and reconcile the bank accounts. System Support – be the first point of contact for the subsidiaries and facilitate the speedy resolution of any disputes between participants with regards to the inter-company netting transactions. Reporting: Treasury Reports – working closely with other RTC members to complete the Monthly Treasury Report as well as any other reports requested by HQ in a timely manner. Daily Liquidity Report – prepare and submit the end of day liquidity report to HQ. Skills and Qualifications To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes: Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and an ability to organize multiple streams of work; keep things on track while consistently meeting tight deadlines. Self-aware, reflective, able to learn from mistakes, open to critical feedback, and an ability to learn quickly while on the job and through formal training. Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people at all levels. Ability to work quickly, accurately and consistently when under pressure. Initiative and motivation to address issues without being asked to do so and a pro-active approach. Hard Skills: Ideally 1 year of working experience with keen interest on understanding Corporate Treasury at multinational level. Bachelor Degree (Finance/ Business degree preferred), 2:1 or above Strong written and spoken English to a professional level. MS Office skills with Excel advanced level.
