12-month work placement (starting June 2027)

We’re looking for a driven and ambitious Undergraduate Customs Co-ordinator to join our Supply Chain team in Manchester on a 12-month work placement. You'll gain hands-on experience across a range of product areas, learning how Co-op identifies, develops, launches, and supplies products. Working alongside experienced colleagues across the business and wider supply chain, you'll develop new skills, build your network, and gain valuable insight into how our business operates.

Our Supply Chain helps keep products moving efficiently and compliantly across our business. As an Undergraduate, you'll spend time on key projects, including the movement of goods to Northern Ireland as part of the Windsor Framework project. By working with colleagues across Co-op, government agencies, and the wider supply chain, you'll support with making sure goods move smoothly while meeting important customs and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Embed into cross category teams engaging with Technical and Commercial teams along with Freight Forwarding, Route to Market and Logistics

  • Get involved with our Co-op networks and working groups across Supply Chain, looking at ways to improve experiences for all colleagues and support communities

  • Work with HMRC reporting to complete investigations and feedback on queries raised

  • Be involved in compliance activity in areas such as EU deforestation regulations and other changes to export regulations impacting Northern Ireland

  • Support the Co-op manage regulatory change to make sure our customers in Northern Ireland continue to have choice in our stores

  • Play your part in keeping our product movements compliant

What you'll bring

  • Knowledge from being in your second year of university studying towards an undergraduate degree

  • An interest in Supply Chain/Customs

  • Good communication and relationship building skills

  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Passion about developing your career
