Here in Manchester, we've been making P&G products at our Trafford Park site for the past 90 years and after some exciting new investment are looking to recruit a motivated utilities technician to join our Pampers manufacturing team. </p><p></p><p>The Utilities Technician is a key member of the Site Utilities Team, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site utility systems such as cooling towers, HVAC, glycol chillers exhaust fans etc . The role focuses on equipment reliability through planned maintenance, defect management, contractor supervision, and continuous improvement to drive better reliability and efficiency of our equipment.</p><p></p><p><span>This is a day-based role (7am - 3pm) with required participation in an on-call rota (1 week in 4) and support for weekend maintenance activities (as needed).</span></p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>Safety & Quality</b></p><ul><li><p>Champion safety and quality in all activities, maintaining the highest standards across the utilities area.</p></li><li><p>Ensure full compliance with site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and company policies.</p></li><li><p>Promote a proactive safety culture through risk identification, mitigation, and continuous improvement.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Reliability & Maintenance Excellence</b></p><ul><li><p>Execute maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and performance. </p></li><li><p>Investigate equipment failures and process issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.</p></li><li><p>Create, maintain, and improve technical standards to support reliable operations.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Daily Management Systems (RTT)</b></p><ul><li><p>Play an active role in daily direction setting and ensure daily inspection processes are executed to a high standard.</p></li><li><p>Use performance data and operational insights to drive continuous improvement and department performance.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Coaching & Capability Building</b></p><ul><li><p>Coach, mentor, and develop apprentices, building both technical expertise and RTT DMS capability.</p></li><li><p>Share best practices and support the development of technical competence within the wider team.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Contractor Management</b></p><ul><li><p>Manage third-party contractors safely and effectively.</p></li><li><p>Prepare work permits, conduct risk assessments, and supervise contractor activities to ensure safe and high-quality execution.</p></li><li><p>Ensure all contracted work meets site standards and regulatory requirements.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we Offer You:</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Competitive Salary: </b>You will join on our starting pay whilst qualifying into your role. Once you have qualified, you will move to our level two pay structure. <br /><br />Starting Pay - £33,232.68<br /><br />Level 2.1 Pay - £35,520.68<br /><br />Level 2.2 Pay - £38,400.44<br /> </p></li><li><p><b>Flex4Me:</b> This is an annual £1200 allowance for you to spend on physical, mental, financial and work-life balance wellbeing.  </p></li><li><p><b>Generous Pension: </b>The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay. </p></li><li><p><b>Annual Leave: </b>You will start with 25 days annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days. </p></li><li><p><b>1-4-1 Shares: </b>For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1-4-1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of £150 a month.</p></li><li><p><b>Private Medical Insurance: </b>Our Private Medical Insurance Plan, currently delivered by AXA Health, provides eligible employees with access to private medical treatment, if they wish.
