The Commercial Manager, is a member of the Value Added Services team working within the TV and Entertainment function of Virgin Media and is responsible for negotiating and managing content partner deals that meet and exceed budgeted revenue targets.

The TV and Entertainment function of Virgin Media leads the content acquisition editorial strategy for our market-leading TV, VoD and TV Everywhere proposition (Virgin TV Go).

This role is responsible for negotiating and managing deals across a range of content partners including SVOD apps (e.g., Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+), Virgin Media Store, Shopping, Pay-Per-View (PPV) events and other content revenue streams, and oversee the integration of content and app services onto the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and deliver specific SVOD, TVOD/EST, Shopping, PPV and other content deals that meet and exceed budgeted targets
  • Oversee content and app service integration projects by working with other cross-functional teams
  • Communicate all deals to relevant internal stakeholders and be responsible for any admin associated with deals generated
  • Evolve commercial strategy and deal structures
  • Establish deep close working relationships with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Prior commercial and negotiation experience
  • In depth understanding of the variety of deal structures associated with pay television, SVODs and/or other similar apps and subscription services
  • Exceptional management of complex projects with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Proven analytical skills with ability to translate analysis into action
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and understanding of financial KPIs
