BlackRock's paid six-month programme offers service leavers and professional athletes the opportunity to develop their professional skills, enhance their understanding of asset management and the world of financial services and prepare for future careers in the industry.

Legal and Compliance:

BlackRock’s Legal & Compliance (L&C) Department plays a critical role in protecting the firm's reputation while providing legal advice, regulatory guidance, and oversight across the business. The team works closely with business partners to ensure client interests remain at the center of decision-making, helping teams translate complex compliance requirements into practical actions and everyday processes. L&C is responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations, fostering and strengthening BlackRock’s culture of compliance, and providing thought leadership on the impact and implementation of regulatory developments. The department also focuses on building a high-performing Compliance function by promoting excellence within the team and actively investing in the development, knowledge, skills, and careers of its employees.

Aladdin Engineering:

Aladdin Engineering is the technology organization responsible for designing, building, and evolving the Aladdin platform, BlackRock’s industry-leading investment and risk management technology. Working at the intersection of financial markets and cutting-edge technology, Aladdin Engineering develops the scalable platforms, applications, data infrastructure, and tools that power investment decision-making, trading, operations, risk management, and client experiences for BlackRock and a growing community of external clients.

Client Services & Solutions:

Client Services & Solutions (CSS) is a client-facing organization within Technology & Operations that was formed by bringing together Client Experience and Operations capabilities under a unified model. Its objective is to create a more seamless client experience, improve collaboration across teams, and better align operational execution with BlackRock's commercial outcomes.

Aladdin Client Business:

Aladdin Client Business is BlackRock's global investment technology and transformation organization, partnering with many of the world's largest financial institutions to implement, operate and optimize the Aladdin platform. Combining financial markets expertise, technology innovation and strategic consulting, ACB helps clients transform how they invest, manage risk, operate and grow in an increasingly complex financial landscape.

Internal Audit:

Aladdin Client Business is BlackRock's global investment technology and transformation organization, partnering with many of the world's largest financial institutions to implement, operate and optimize the Aladdin platform. Combining financial markets expertise, technology innovation and strategic consulting, ACB helps clients transform how they invest, manage risk, operate and grow in an increasingly complex financial landscape.

Military Applicants: Service leaver must have served in the UK regular armed forces with a minimum of 3 years’ service. Have left regular service within the last 12 months.

Professional Athletes: Elite athletes, who have either represented a professional team for their sport, or who have represented their country at Senior international level.

Applicants for this programme must be legally able to work in the location applied for.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
