For our restaurant The Idler near London Victoria Station we are looking for a Waiter/Waitress!

The concept

Just moments from Victoria station, The Idler is a neighbourhood restaurant for whatever the day calls for.

A breakfast spread before sightseeing or a leisurely lunch between meetings. Dinner before the theatre. A cocktail after a long day. Or simply a place to settle in and stay awhile.

The menu is made for sharing, grazing and gathering, with seasonal dishes and plates that suit every occasion. The drinks list follows suit, from a glass of wine at lunch to cocktails and pre-dinner aperitivos that carry the evening a little further.

For guests staying at The July, it's an easy extension of home. For locals, corporate diners and theatre-goers alike, it's a familiar table to return to, punctuated by reliable, efficient and friendly service.

The Job

We are looking for a friendly, energetic and service-driven Waiter / Waitress to join our team at The Idler. In this role, you’ll create memorable experiences for our guests by delivering warm and attentive service across the restaurant, bar and meeting rooms. You’ll guide guests through our food and drinks menu, work closely with the kitchen and help maintain a smooth and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day. This is a hands-on role in a lively all-day dining environment, where personality, teamwork and a genuine passion for hospitality will make all the difference.

  • Strong communication skills and confidence when interacting with guests and the team.
  • Brings positive energy, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for hospitality.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment while delivering smooth and attentive service.
  • Naturally warm and guest-focused, creating memorable experiences with every interaction.
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but personality and attitude matter most!
