Warehouse Operative

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate, safe, and timely movement of courier material in line with company, regulatory, and airline requirements.

Key responsibilities

·Safely operate designated equipment to process and move courier material within the warehouse, in line with company and airline requirements

·Load and unload vehicles containing loose and/or unitised material

·Break down import material, accurately segregating consignments and counting bags

·Prepare export material, either loose or by building ULDs, in accordance with required standards

·Always follow all company procedures, including security, health, and safety requirements

·Complete required training and adapt to new working practices as introduced by the company

·Work efficiently and cooperatively as part of a team, contributing to a positive working atmosphere

·Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area

·Meet operational targets and standards set by Co-ordinators

·Communicate clearly and provide operational information when required

·Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in approach to work

·Carry out any reasonable requests from Co-ordinators to support the operation

Skills and experience

·Previous experience or knowledge of courier or cargo operations is desirable

·Forklift experience preferred

·Strong attention to detail

·A good standard of numeracy and literacy

·Clear and effective communication skills

Additional requirements

·Ability to work early mornings and/or late evenings

·A clean CRC must be obtainable (no disqualifying criminal convictions)

·Ability to undertake regular light, medium, and heavy lifting

·Forklift operation capability

·Willingness to communicate, motivate colleagues, and contribute positively to team culture

·Proactive approach, with a willingness to suggest improvements and solutions

Technology

While this is not an office-based role, handheld terminals are used regularly, so basic technology skills are beneficial.
