Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
- Salary: £27,000 - £28,000+ per annum (depending on experience)
- Hours: 42.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm (30-minute lunch break)
- Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm on a rota basis
- Overtime: Saturday mornings paid at 1.25x the standard hourly rate
An established supplier of fasteners, fixings, tools and industrial products is looking to recruit a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join its busy and supportive team in Birmingham.
This is a varied position offering a combination of warehouse responsibilities, Trade Counter customer service, and occasional delivery driving cover. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment and is looking to build a long-term career with a respected and growing business.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Warehouse Operative, your duties will include:
- Receiving and checking deliveries into the warehouse
- Booking stock into the system and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Assisting with stock control and replenishment
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Preparing orders for dispatch
- Serving customers at the Trade Counter with excellent customer service
- Providing cover for delivery drivers when required
- Supporting general warehouse operations
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Participating in Saturday morning Trade Counter cover on a rota basis
- Following all company health and safety procedures
The successful candidate will be dependable, enthusiastic and willing to learn, with:
- Previous warehouse experience (preferred but not essential)
- A full UK driving licence
- Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A positive, proactive attitude
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible and reliable approach to work
Due to the company's vehicle insurance policy, applicants must be aged 25 or over and must have a full UK driving licence
