Salary Range

Min: $20.12/hour

Max: $21.94/hour

This salary range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Responsibilities

Purpose

Perform product functions, including measuring, cutting, assembling, packing, reporting, marking, etc. to meet company quality, safety, security, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

The Crate Assembler is responsible for department support and knowledge in all aspects of the responsibilities of the crating department.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Using pneumatic power tools, saws, heat irons, etc.
  • Operate all crating tools safely.
  • Able to measure accurately.
  • Take direction and work independently or collaboratively with a team.
  • Work in non-temp regulated atmosphere with seasons of extreme heat and cold.
  • Lift and carry at least 50lbs and do so regularly daily.
  • Participate in overhead crane operations as assist for safety.
  • Work in an OSHA compliant safe manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, equivalency certificate or significant relevant or appropriate workingexperience.
  • 1-2 years of woodworking experience required.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in all aspects of wood working/constructing.

Organization Relationships

  • This position will interact with all levels of employees at the branch, including colleagues, leadership staff, and office personnel.

Work Environment

  • This position requires physical demands to include, but not limited to standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and carrying heavy objects repeatedly.
  • Warehouse environment may be noisy and subject to varying temperatures.
  • Will work alongside drivers who are moving pallets on different types of forklifts.
