Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist

Overview

Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist role at Burning Nights CRPS Support. You will contribute expert knowledge and experience to develop and provide counselling, psychotherapy and mental health support for CRPS patients, their relatives, partners and carers.

We are a charity entering a growth period and you will be part of expanding our counselling and therapy services to ensure regular mental health support for service users.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide one-to-one counselling or therapy sessions online (via Zoom) or by telephone.
  • Develop and support our mental health service and contribute to service growth.
  • Participate in monthly group clinical supervision (1.5 hours per month; groups of 3–4 therapists).
  • Maintain client confidentiality and uphold data protection and equal opportunities principles.

Depending on your qualifications, you may provide person-centred or integrative counselling, or specialist therapies such as CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and EMDR for CRPS patients, their families and carers (adults and children where applicable).

People are referred by health or legal professionals or may refer themselves to the service. This role offers opportunities to develop counselling and therapy skills, organisation, communication and teamwork.
