Office Manager - Business Admin Luxury Bespoke Furniture

Love being the person who keeps everything organised and a growing business running smoothly?

Parker Howley & Co is a fast-growing Yorkshire manufacturer creating high-end bespoke furniture from our workshop in Mirfield.

We've grown from around £1m to £3.5m turnover in just four years, supplying beautiful made-to-order furniture to private clients, interior designers and high-end developers.

Now we're looking for a practical, hands-on Office Manager to work directly with the owners and take responsibility for the day-to-day administration, bookkeeping, payroll and purchasing that keep our business moving.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys getting involved in a bit of everything. One day you might be processing payroll or managing invoices, the next raising purchase orders, dealing with suppliers, coordinating paperwork or improving the way something gets done.

We're not looking for a senior finance professional or corporate manager. We're looking for a capable, dependable all-rounder who enjoys the variety and responsibility of working in a growing SME.

Keep the Office Organised. Keep the Business Moving.

You'll become a trusted point of contact for the Directors and wider team, taking ownership of the everyday tasks that keep a busy manufacturing business running efficiently.

From bookkeeping and payroll through to purchasing, suppliers, office administration and basic HR and Health & Safety coordination, you'll make sure the practical details are handled accurately and on time.

You'll also help improve everyday systems and processes as the business continues to grow.

Where You'll Make an Impact

• Managing day-to-day office administration, records and business paperwork
• Processing monthly payroll accurately and maintaining employee pay records
• Handling routine bookkeeping, invoices, payments and reconciliations
• Raising purchase orders and coordinating purchasing and supplier communications
• Keeping spreadsheets, supplier records and administrative systems organised
• Supporting stock, materials and general workshop administration
• Coordinating timesheets, basic HR administration and employee documentation
• Maintaining Health & Safety paperwork and compliance records
• Liaising with external accountants, suppliers and contractors when required
• Identifying practical improvements to everyday processes and ways of working
• Providing dependable administrative support to the Directors and wider team

About You

You're a naturally organised, hands-on person who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping things running properly.

You're confident handling bookkeeping and payroll independently, but you're just as happy sorting out supplier queries, organising paperwork or helping colleagues solve everyday problems.

You'll ideally have experience in a smaller business where you've been trusted to manage several different responsibilities rather than focusing on one specialist area.

You'll ideally bring:

• Experience in office management, business administration or a similarly varied SME role
• Practical, hands-on bookkeeping experience
• Experience independently processing payroll
• Purchasing, supplier coordination and general office administration experience
• Confidence using Excel, bookkeeping software and everyday office systems
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
• A proactive, practical approach to solving problems
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work closely with business owners and colleagues
• A flexible, adaptable attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed

Experience within furniture, joinery, bathrooms, interiors, construction or another manufacturing or make-to-order business would be particularly valuable.

ERP, MRP or job-management system experience would be a bonus.

Above all, you'll be hard-working, trustworthy, accurate and comfortable with change, with the common sense to spot what needs doing and get it sorted.

Why Parker Howley?

We're a small, successful business with ambitious plans, a close-knit team and a relaxed working environment built around honesty, integrity, quality and doing things properly.

You'll work directly with the owners and have the autonomy to improve how the office operates, with changes you can actually see making a difference.

What We Offer

• £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Company pension
• Hybrid working – 4 days in Mirfield / 1 day WFH
• Flexible hours across a 40-hour working week
• A varied role with genuine ownership and responsibility
• The opportunity to help improve how a growing British manufacturing business operates
