(Remote) Power BI Developer

  • Location: Remote, USA
  • Contract Length: 12-month contract
  • Employment Type: W-2 only
  • Pay Rate: $55 to $60 per hour
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Residency Requirement: Must currently reside in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Build interactive reports and data visualizations based on business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI data models.
  • Write and optimize DAX calculations, measures, and calculated columns.
  • Develop Power Query transformations using M.
  • Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL databases, Excel, APIs, and cloud-based systems.
  • Create efficient data models using relationships, hierarchies, and dimensional modeling.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions.
  • Perform data validation and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues with Power BI reports, datasets, and dashboards.
  • Optimize reports and data models for performance and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries for reporting and data analysis.
  • Publish and manage reports and datasets within Power BI Service.
  • Configure scheduled refreshes, workspaces, permissions, and access controls.
  • Implement Row-Level Security when required.
  • Maintain documentation for reports, datasets, calculations, and reporting processes.
  • Work closely with data analysts, developers, business teams, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional Power BI development experience.
  • Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX.
  • Strong experience with Power Query and data transformation.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, KPIs, and data visualizations.
  • Experience with data modeling and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience integrating multiple data sources into Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of data validation and reporting accuracy.
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing Power BI solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Must reside in the United States.
  • Must be authorized to work within the United States.
  • This position is available on a W-2 basis only.
