About the setting

Approved Premises provide temporary residential accommodation for people on probation, including individuals leaving prison who require enhanced supervision and support as they return to the community. They offer a structured environment that supports rehabilitation and helps residents move towards independent living.

You may come into contact with residents while carrying out your cleaning duties, so you’ll need to feel comfortable working in this environment, treating people respectfully and following site security, safety and confidentiality procedures.

Due to the nature of the environment and the resident group, applicants must be aged 18 or over.

  • Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Replenish essential supplies, including toilet rolls, hand soap and sanitiser.
  • Follow infection control, COSHH, health and safety and site security procedures.
  • Use cleaning products, equipment and personal protective equipment safely.
  • Report faulty equipment, safety concerns and maintenance issues to your supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support cleaning across other areas when required.

What you’ll bring

  • Previous cleaning experience in a similar setting, ideally within a corporate or office environment.
  • A reliable approach and availability to work both Saturday and Sunday each week.
  • Good communication skills and a respectful, professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in a job well done.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and willingness to complete relevant training.

What we offer

Alongside £12.71 per hour, you’ll have access to Sodexo rewards and benefits, plus training to help you carry out your role safely and confidently.

You’ll be part of a team where your contribution matters, helping maintain an environment that supports the people who live and work at Kirk Lodge.
